I think this makes sense. The scope of OPNFV and the amount of participation has been reduced, therefore TSC should also reduce. Why the number 9 and not any other? Is this the result of a calculation based on overall participation?
Mark Beierl
No reason for 9. It is open for discussion here so that we come up with a number that we all agree on.

May be make it to 10, a round figure
Mark Beierl
Needs to be an odd number so there is no tie in quorum.

I think it's not the key issue and we should have first proposed new criteria before running as TSC candidate.
We do ensure that the candidates will contribute to OPNFV during the whole term as they represent the Community and then participate to the TSC.
Yes, depending on the number of eligible members, we could have reduced the number of seats. I strongly think this part is too early or at least unordered.

Optimistically, if/when OPNFV interest and participation grows as we take-on more of CNTT → CIRV roles, will we be having the discussion to increase the TSC in a years time?
Mark Beierl
Cedric Ollivier, please do propose the new criteria, or make it a vote like this one.

The TSC size needs to balance
IMHO the size of 15 has served us pretty well in the past - and the issue with missing quorum in case the live meeting isn't attended well is now addressed in a different way; i.e., lack of quorum should not be an argument to consider a smaller TSC. In the past we've found that TSC members bring an extra level of energy to OPNFV at large - as opposed to be only focused on a particular project (like a project leader might do), which is why IMHO we should stay with 15 seats, as long as we find interested, energized and qualified members to fill them.

I would agree with Frank's comment. Meeting quorum should not be the main driver behind reducing TSC size.
If the current TSC is helping OPNFV as a whole there isnt a reason to reduce the size.
